Savannah's Boat Parade of Lights: Charity & Cheer Afloat
For over two decades, the Savannah Boat Parade of Lights has been the sparkly kickoff to our festive season. Picture this: a dazzling spectacle of boats decked out in all their merry glory – powerboats, sailboats, and luxurious yachts. They all trailed the Georgia Queen Riverboat on a magical journey from the Eastern Wharf Dock, gliding past the Plant Riverside District, under the twinkling Talmadge Bridge, and back again on November 25th.
But this year was extra special. Beyond the breathtaking lights, the parade had a heartwarming mission. All the proceeds they raked in went straight to the Greenbriar Children's Center, an incredible place offering kiddos top-notch early learning programs, childcare, counseling, and more. The parade lit up the night while bringing in some goodness for the community.
Now, let’s talk decorations! Santas, Grinches, and even Buc-ee's beaver mascot – these boats weren’t holding back on the holiday spirit. Spirited boat captains and crew members, all wrapped up in the magic of the season, making this volunteer-run event a true spectacle for all ages!
First Ritz-Carlton Coming to Savannah!
TMGOC Ventures just got the thumbs up from the local review board to bring the very first Ritz-Carlton to our city in Georgia! They're kicking off construction for a 104-room hotel and 20 residences sometime in the second quarter of 2024. The plan is to have it all up and running by the first quarter of 2026.
This fancy hotel is taking over the historic 'Savannah Skyscraper,' and those residences are going to be top-notch. There will be a restaurant serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a chill lobby lounge, a members-only club, a rooftop bar and pool with killer views, a massive 5,000-square-foot spa, and over 5,000 square feet of space for meetings. The residences will give you panoramic views of the downtown skyline and the Savannah River.
